How do I know if I’m eligible to apply?
This fund is for anyone who identifies within the trans, non-binary and/or gender expansive community and needs help decreasing financial barriers to their gender affirming care. You are welcome to have someone (a parent, caregiver, or affirming loved one) help you with the application. Parents and caregivers may apply on behalf of their children.
When will the application open?
Click here for the date of the next application opening. The application opens in cycles and will be open for one week.
Can I submit the application on behalf of my kid?
Absolutely, there’s a place you can note this in the application.
What will you do with my information? Where is it stored?
We know the information that you are sharing is personal, and it will be kept completely confidential on HSZ&W’s private servers. If there’s anything you don’t feel comfortable sharing in the application, let us know, and we’ll see what we can do.
Is there an age requirement or cap?
Nope. This fund is open to all ages.
How do you decide who gets the grants?
We wish we could fund every need–we know each and every one is important. Applications are not approved based on the time they’re submitted, so please take your time and make sure your application is complete. We use a randomized system, while taking into account the urgency of the need, to select the grantees.
Do I have to have a bank account to receive payment?
A bank account may not be required. If you are selected to receive a grant, we will follow up with options to receive payment.
When will I receive a response after I submit an application?
We’re a small team, and we work to process all the applications as quickly as we can.
Can I apply this cycle if I’ve applied previously?
You can apply as many times as you need. We encourage everyone to reflect on their relative need, and if you’re in a position to make space for other community members. We trust your decision.
